Bloom’s Taxonomy In 1956, Dr. Benjamin Samuel Bloom, along with Max Eagleheart, Edward F u rst, Walter Hill, and David Krathwohl , published a framework for categorizing educational goals. This framework is titled Taxonomy of Educational Objectives , also known as Bloom’s Taxonomy . Bloom’s Taxonomy is an a cumulative and hierarchical system for describing, classifying, and organizing learning objectives . It is hierarchical in nature, meaning that the objectives in the taxonomy are grouped by level or rank. Dr. Bloom and his associates categorized objectives into three domains: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Cognitive Domain: Cognitive domain involves behaviors related to intellectual development. Intellectual development is possible only when we possess or store knowledge and by processing and manipulating information.
