Teacher's Handbook is an excellent reference material for teachers for effective science teaching. In our state, it is prepared by the SCERT along with text books prepared by them. It contains summaries of chapters in the science text books, conceptual development of each topic, list of instructional objectives and specifications, explanation of significant technical terms, learning activities precautions to be taken while attempting demonstration, teaching aids to be used, assignments of various kinds, evaluation tools. co-curricular activities that can be organised, seminars, projects, etc. to be organised and suggested references or teachers and pupils. In short, teacher's hand book is a resource material for teachers.

1. It equips the teacher with sufficient theoretical knowledge and practical suggestions of what is to be taught.

2. It provides suitable learning experiences for different instructional situations.

3. It helps teachers to adopt appropriate methods and approaches of teaching.

4. It helps the teacher prepare various instructional materials.

5. It helps the teacher evaluate learning using relevant and standard tools of evaluation.

Mastery Learning

  Mastery Learning Mastery learning  is an instructional approach designed to ensure that all students achieve a level of mastery in the subjects being taught. It originated with educational theorists such as Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi  and John Amos Comenius , but the modern concept was popularized by Dr. Benjamin S. Bloom  in 1968. Bloom emphasized the combination of teacher tutoring  and individualized instruction , ensuring that students can master learning objectives at their own pace with proper feedback and remediation.
