Definition: A virtual classroom is an online learning environment where students and teachers interact synchronously (live) or asynchronously (self-paced) using digital tools. It simulates a traditional classroom but is conducted over the internet, allowing flexible and interactive learning.

Types of Online Learning in a Virtual Classroom

1. Synchronous Learning Real-time, interactive learning where students and teachers engage live using video conferencing, chat, and discussion forums. Example: Live online classes via Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.

2. Asynchronous Learning  Learning that is self-paced, where students access recorded lectures, assignments, and discussion boards at their convenience. Example: Pre-recorded video lessons, online forums, and self-study materials in Google Classroom or MOOCs.
